In June of 2005 Eduardo Sanchez-Navarro, Chairman of Grupo Questro in Mexico, contacted us, after seeing our Farmers Market Trolley, with an interest in providing a Trolley system at a new project he was developing in southern Baja California. One month later EEI/TIG was under contract to perform a Schematic Design Phase and deliver a comprehensive Report detailing a range of options designed in collaboration with Jorge Buch and Agustin de la Barra, the principals onsite, at Puerto Los Cabos. This Report was delivered in January 2006 and included schematic designs for four Trolley route options, a comprehensive presentation on the history of street railway in Mexico which informed a Trolley vehicle design tailored to the clients wishes, a maintenance facility, and construction estimates and schedules for all of the above.

The Schematic Design Phase provided the Client with the information needed to decide upon a Trolley route and Vehicle design. In April of 2006 TIG entered into a Civil Design Agreement and a Trolley Vehicle Design/Build Contract with Puerto Los Cabos. Working closely with the Client's on-site engineering staff we produced a civil plan for the Trolley tracks and an Architecural package for the Maintenance Facility. These documents were delivered in the fall of 2006 and the first phase of construction of the tracks is now under way.

Two-car Trolley Maintenance Facility for Puerto Los Cabos
Two Trolley Vehicles which will serve the Phase I build-out of the proposed Trolley System are nearing completion in our manufacturing facility, TIG/m, in Chatsworth California (click on Pictures, below). These exciting vehicles will be, to our knowledge, the world's first true plug-in serial hybrid steel-wheeled Trolley Vehicles.
